
Will Kazakhstan and the European Union sign a visa facilitation agreement by the end of 2026?
During European Council President António Costa’s visit to Astana, Kazakhstan and the EU confirmed plans to begin preparing visa facilitation and readmission agreements. The talks come amid expanding cooperation: bilateral trade reached $50 billion, EU investments since 2005 total nearly $200 billion, and over 4000 European companies now operate in Kazakhstan. President Tokayev welcomed the move toward easing travel rules, while the EU reaffirmed its readiness to deepen cooperation within the C5+EU framework.

Resolves to “Yes” if, by December 31, 2026, Kazakhstan and the European Union formally sign a visa facilitation agreement. Otherwise — NO.
